Deck Structure

The deck of this Hovercraft is manufactured from fiberglass core sandwich technology. Using a blown rigid PVC foam core, this provides a high tensile strength and low weight.

Crane lugs to enable the Hovercraft to be lifted.

Hull Structure

The Hull and super structure is manufactured using the latest techniques, incorporating rigid foam core sandwich, Kevlar/carbon fibre and E glass mat is vacuum bagged with an epoxy resin system. This method provides high tensile strength and extremely lightweight structures. Also offers a low radar signature. This structure will have a 20 year service life with minimal maintenance.

Cabin Access

The Hovercraft has two doors on each side of the craft to provide easy access to the cabin of the Hovercraft. There is also a fold out gangway with railing to cater for non-scheduled stops at areas where there are no facilities in place.

Fresh Water

600 Litres, mains pressure water pump.

Refreshments

At the front of the cabin there is a smaller locker provided designed to hold 60 cans and 30 sandwich packs. This compartment is cooled by the air conditioning.

Accommodation

Forward facing Fabric-upholstered seats, all window glass is laminated. Front windshield is tinted. Fan force cabin air conditioning and ventilation to each passenger seat. Fan controls at the helm station. Fresh air ventilation to cabin space also incorporated. Concealed roof strip light along the full length of the aisles.

Luggage

Luggage compartment of 4 cubic metres incorporated adjacent to the Toilet cubicle with access door from the outside of the Hovercraft. Hand luggage can be stowed in an aircraft style overhead locker.

Toilet

Aircraft style toilet cubicle with washbasin, mirror and cupboard, paper towel dispenser and rubbish container. 100 litre sewage tank. A deck fitting is provided to enable the sewage tank to be pumped out.

Intercom System

Intercom system is fitted to enable the captain and the stewardess to communicate with the passengers. A CD player is fitted to enable background music to play over the intercom system.

Lift Fan

Two centrifugal fans provide the lift. The casing of which is manufactured from Kevlar/carbon fibre. The impeller and shaft is stainless steel. Hydraulic motors drive each fan. The speed of each fan can be varied also. A tachometer is fitted to each fan so that the speed can be monitored at the helm station.

Thrust Fan

There are two 2.0 metersdiameter 6 bladed axial fans that provide the thrust for the Hovercraft. They are variable pitch but fixed in motion. The fan cowlings are made from Kevlar/carbon fibre. At the rear of the cowling are 4 air rudders that provide the steering for the Hovercraft. There are also 2 elevator rudders that provide some longitudinal control. The drive to the thrust fan is via a tooth belt.

Control Systems and Instrumentation

The Hovercraft uses the latest in fly by wire technology. It is simple yet advanced. The steering controls allow the operator to position the craft precisely every time. The lift fan control allows the operator to adjust the fan speed according to the payload. The thrust fan speed can also be varied to cater for various sea and wind conditions. The instrumentation consists of twin Tachometers for the engine rpm. Twin tachometers for the lift fans. Water temp gauges, oil pressure gauges, fuel gauges, and hour meters for each engine. Dead man switch, ignition key start for each engine. There is a bank of switches for spotlights, siren, cabin lights, instrumentation lights, and fan cooling for cockpit.

Accessories

On board spare parts, alternator belt, water pump, skirt maintenance kit and tool kit.

Deck Wash

Two retractable trigger operated deck wash systems are fitted to each side of the Hovercraft. The mains pressure pump that is incorporated in the Hovercraft operates them.
